Downing, in conjunction with award-winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, are planning a 32 storey mixed-use development comprising student accommodation, swimming pool and leisure centre at 30-60 South Lambeth Road. Downing is hoping to realise the site’s full potential and is bringing forward proposals for accommodation for approximately 550 higher education students and a 25m x 9m swimming pool and leisure centre.
These new leisure facilities will be available for use by local residents. The swimming pool will be at lower ground-level and will be visible from South Lambeth Road, creating an animated street-scene. The plans will provide a much needed boost to local businesses which will benefit from an increase in trade.
