19/5/2010 Flagship Leeds scheme picks up another award

Broadcasting Place in Leeds has scooped another prize at this year’s Yorkshire Property Awards.

Downing’s £50 million scheme was awarded Best Commercial Development 2010. Completed in 2009, the mixed-use development is entirely let to Leeds Metropolitan University.

Downing owns and manages the student accommodation element of the scheme – the 23-storey Broadcasting Tower which contains 241 student residences.

Earlier this year the scheme, which was designed by Sterling Prize winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley, was named Best New Building at the Leeds Architecture Awards.
