Developer Downing is looking to strengthen its property management team with new recruits to oversee its expanding UK portfolio.
Downing currently manages over 7,000 student bedrooms in prime, purpose-built student accommodation sites across the country and both this portfolio and its commercial and residential offering are rapidly expanding.
The company has been active with recruitment throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and now plans to appoint additional staff across its structure, including two additional experienced facilities managers.
One of the new facilities managers will be responsible for Downing’s commercial and residential portfolio and the second will manage a selection of its Downing Students developments.
Reporting to the head of property management, both roles will be based out of its head office in Liverpool.
Downing is experiencing its most significant expansion phase to date with a number of high-profile projects currently under construction, including two new Downing Student sites in London and one at River Street in Manchester, collectively comprising 1,750 new bedrooms.
A 28,000 sq. ft speculative Grade A office scheme is also due for completion next year at Miles Street in Vauxhall, London.
In Liverpool, the top floor of No.1 Old Hall Street, Downing’s flagship office building in the heart of the city’s commercial district, has recently been refurbished as part of the latest phase of holistic upgrades to the 65,000 sq. ft building.
The high quality space is a rare and welcome addition to Liverpool’s shortage of Grade A space and will be now marketed to let for new tenants requiring space from 3,500 – 10,000 sq. ft.
